This job is for the expert in the room. You shouldn't be asking us how to fix a truck. We should be asking you. We want the mechanic who finds the root cause instead of throwing parts at it, torques every bolt to spec, and fixes it right the first time, so the truck doesn't come back next week for the same thing.

Jensen Transport has been hauling food-grade bulk and liquid sweeteners out of Independence for 96 years. We run our own shop, and we're hiring a diesel mechanic to keep our Class 8 fleet on the road.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-5:00pm, home every night. Emergency calls as needed.

What you'll do

• Full truck repair on our Class 8 fleet: engines, aftertreatment, electrical, brakes, suspension, drivetrain and alignment
• Diagnose and repair Detroit Diesel DD13, DD15 and Series 60 engines
• PMs and DOT annual inspections; trailer and tanker work as needed
• Mentor our younger technicians. They want to learn from someone who's great at this, and you'll be the one they learn from.

What you need

• Required: hands-on experience doing full engine work on Detroit DD13 and Series 60, or similar heavy-duty diesel engines
• Dealer training preferred (Detroit/DTNA or a Freightliner dealer)
• Your own hand tools. Diagnostic tools are supplied: Noregon JPro and TaaS.
• CDL preferred. If you don't have one, you'll need to get your CDL within your first 6 months, and we pay for the training.
